Chair Yoga is suitable for people who struggle to get up and down from the floor. It is a mixed ability chair based yoga class.
It could be that you’re recovering following an injury, have mobility issues, find it difficult to exercise due to weight related issues, have a health condition like fibromyalgia, arthritis or recovering following a stroke……*
We practise barefoot or with gripped socks. We mobilise and limber our joints in the chair and then come up to standing and finish from seated with a relaxation practice as we would do in a traditional yoga class.
It can help improve mobility, strength, balance and flexibility.
I teach chair yoga currently at the Oval Leisure Centre, Tuesday 11am-12pm and at Guinea Gap, Wednesday 12.45pm - 1.30pm.
